Year One

Welcome to Year 1.

This year the children will be taught by Miss Price and Mrs Boyle.

Throughout the year the children will have opportunities to develop their spiritual, emotional and academic learning. The children will learn to become independent learners, who are creative, resilient and hard-working. We will help the children to set personal goals and aim high.

Like our class saint, St. Francis of Assisi, we will dedicate time to others, thinking of ways we can help the poor and vulnerable. We will think about God’s creation and the role we can play in taking care of it, mirroring the way that St. Francis of Assisi cared for animals and the environment.

In Year 1, we follow our mission statement to ‘love one another as I have loved you’, we think about the words that Jesus taught others and how we can apply this to our everyday lives. We seek to be loving and compassionate to others and to be eloquent and truthful in all we do and say. Together we follow our Catholic Social Teaching, focusing on Solidarity and the Common Good, knowing that we are all part of God’s family and that when we stand together united, we are powerful and we can make a change. We will work together in class, supporting one another to be the best version of ourselves.

If you have any questions during the year, please do not hesitate to contact us.
