RSE

The Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) Programme St Cuthbert’s has adopted is the ‘Life to the Full’ work scheme which is based on A Model Catholic RSE Curriculum.

Staff ensure that the provision is fully consistent with the teaching of the Church whilst still meeting the statutory requirements set out by the Department for Education and all staff delivering the units are fully prepared and knowledgeable.

Life to the Full is a fully resourced Scheme of Work for Catholic primary schools which embraces and fulfils the statutory curriculum from Early Years to Year 6. Pupils will revisit the same topics at an age-appropriate stage through their school life. The programme includes teaching about personal health, physical and emotional wellbeing, strong emotions, private parts of the body, personal relationships, family structures, trusted adults, growing bodies, puberty, periods, life cycles, the dangers of social media, where babies come from, an understanding of the Common Good and living in the wider world.

The entire teaching is underpinned with a religious understanding that our deepest identity is as a child of God – created chosen and loved by God. The programme is fully inclusive of all pupils and their families.

Life to the Full is an entire platform of creative resources that will engage, inform and inspire our children and parents. This includes interactive video content, story-based activities, employing a wide range of teaching tools, original music and an accompanying programme of classroom prayers.

In addition, there is an online parent platform so that parents and carers can engage with the teaching and deepen the experience for your child. To access the online parent platform please visit: www.tentenresources.co.uk/parent-portal
