Writing
At St Cuthbert’s, we aim to create pupils who write as readers and read as writers. Therefore, we aim, where possible, to link our writing with an age appropriate text, that is also challenging. Classes will look at a text, discuss its vocabulary, retell the text, discuss grammar and punctuation and then plan and compose their own writing and then write at length. In KS2 in particular, we focus on why we are writing (our purpose) and who we are writing it for (audience).
